The Choir School of Hartford

Regular weekly and monthly schedule

The Choir School of Hartford’s season begins in September every year, and continues through June. We rehearse on Tuesdays / Thursdays from 6:00–7:30pm and Sundays from 9:00–10:00am. We sing for a Sunday service, which runs from 10:00–11:00am.

  • August 21–25
  • Choir Course Week: Rehearsals, activities, workshops, and guest clinicians at Trinity Episcopal Church every day from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
  • November 5th
  • The Hope of Loving: Jake Runestad’s cantata with string quartet, soloists, and the Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet Company. 7:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • December 3rd
  • O Antiphon Service: A reflective service of the seven Medieval antiphons, each beginning with the word "O," which also forms the basis of the hymn O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. 5:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • December 24th
  • Candlelight Christmas Eve Service: 10:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • January 26–28, 2024
  • 2024 Chorister Tour of NYC with participation in the 2024 Chorister Festival at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
  • February 18th
  • Lenten Cantata: Erhalt Uns, Herr, by Dietrich Buxtehude. 10:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • March 24th
  • Palm Sunday: 10:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • March 28th
  • Maundy Thursday: Selections from Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. 7:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • March 31st
  • Easter Sunday with extended musical prelude. 10:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • April 21st
  • Birdsong: An Avian Offering of Choral and Organ Music. 7:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
  • May 19th
  • Pentecost: Misa Criolla, Ariel Ramiréz’s landmark work, in collaboration with Chorus Angelicus, and including traditional South American instruments. Time to be announced.
  • June 9th, 2024
  • Youth Sunday / Last Sunday for Choirs.
